Making the most out of every day takes a lot of energy, but by making mundane activities like getting up in the morning more routine, you can actually save your energy for more fun activities. Wellness is huge right now because it is important, and more people a realizing that to lead a happier life, you need to be both mentally and physically healthy. Our lives have shifted so drastically. Our lifespans are longer than ever and yet our futures are so very uncertain. Youth today have no guarantee that they will ever even be able to retire, which is why focusing on wellness and on enjoying every day is so crucial. We need to increase our quality of life instead of waiting to retire. You need to follow this guide:

Make Routine Tasks Routine

Every day we need to wake up, we should then get cleaned up, make ourselves breakfast, then head out the door for work. At work, we similarly have the same tasks to do again and again. These routine tasks should require very little mental effort, but unless we have a good routine that works with our bodies, it is these same routine tasks that can feel so painful.

To start, improve your bedtime and morning routine. A great sleep can make you feel like you are ready to take on the day, and achieving this sleep every single day can help you go far. To do this, you will first need to stop using electronics before bed. An hour will do the trick but if you really want to feel the benefits try to limit your exposure or use night mode on your electronics after sunset.

Go to bed at the same time, wake up at the same time, and do more with your morning routine to help benefit your mental and physical health. Eat a healthy breakfast, make yourself feel good – even read. The more consistent your routine is here, the more refreshed you will feel in the long-run. The same principles apply to work and to your other responsibilities. By finding a routine that allows you to work better and sticking to it, you can minimize the amount of energy you use doing it.

Make Fun Activities More Fun

Once you have your routine activities working for you, it’s time to enjoy more of your off-time. Feeling fulfilled is not a feeling that one should take lightly. By getting out there and seeing more of the city, you live in you can feel more at home, make new friends, and forge new memories. The joyous, if not horribly confusing, years of your twenties pass quickly, and there is a temptation to approach life in your thirties in the same way. What has really changed, and anyway, isn’t age just a number? Sadly, with the advancing years comes a whole host of concerns you have never had before; for example, wrinkles become less of a distant possibility and a present reality, and you will develop a few grey hairs. If you are really unlucky, you might lose it all completely. Before you go and lock yourself away and scream, consider changing your lifestyle and leading a healthier and fitter routine.

1. Get Fit, Stay Fit

There is a reason that everybody always talks about fitness levels. Whereas it might have been ok to be pallid and skinny in your teenage years and early twenties, as you get older these things get less easy to change and your physical fitness becomes more important. If you’re familiar with what they gym looks like from the outside, yet you haven’t actually made it inside yet to look at it up-close, go and get a trial day membership and see whether you might actually enjoy it. If it isn’t for you, research body weight workouts for doing at home. However you tackle your fitness, or lack thereof, do it while you are still (relatively) young. A healthy diet is super important to increasing your lifespan and making sure you are in peak physical condition for as long as possible. Record how much you drink every week, as it is easy to let a drinking problem creep up on you. Before you know it, you could be far exceeding the recommended amount and not even realize. Similarly, do you smoke? If so, switch to a vaporizer and buy yourself a selection of flavors at the ejuice sale. You might be able to reduce the amount of cigarettes you smoke drastically.

3. Maintain Key Friendships

In your twenties, it can feel like there is a party every weekend and opportunities to see your friends are plentiful. As you get older, you develop careers and long-term stable relationships. Many of you will have children, and between looking after them and yourself, it can seem like there’s barely enough time for eating a decent meal in the evening, let alone staying in contact with friends you made at University. Studies have indicated that friends may be more important than family in our later lives, so keep yourself in contact with friends and get the most out of life in your thirties. Send each other messages, and try and have a monthly dinner party. There are some things that you can’t get from your family, no matter how amazing they are. You’ll also need the change in environment, otherwise you may find it difficult to stay sane.

3 questions to ask yourself before you change career

When it comes to changing up your career prospects, it can be tricky to know where to start. To set you off on the right track, here are three questions you should be asking yourself.

  1. Are you qualified?

Especially if you’re keen to delve into a role that’s nothing remotely like your current position, you might need to check if you’re suitably qualified. Some employers may request that you have GCSE grades in English and maths, while others might state that a degree in a subject relevant to the role is desired.

However, it could be that you need to obtain a specific qualification before you can even apply for your dream role. For example, if you want to become a mortgage adviser, you will need to acquire a qualification that allows you to legally practice, such as the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP). The CeMAP course, which can be obtained via online learning or through classroom-led training, can help to open up a number of doors for you on your journey to becoming a mortgage adviser. Without it, you may struggle to turn heads during your job hunt.

  1. Is your CV up to date?

Ahead of your career change, it’s likely you’ll need to dust off your CV and give it an update. You can’t expect prospective employers to notice you unless your resume is current and concise, so if yours is a little out of date, now is the time to freshen it up.

Your CV should include the details that will help you stand out from the crowd and any traits or skills you have that you think make you a cut above the rest. Ideally, your resume should be no more than two pages, so try to keep your information clear and succinct.

Don’t forget to check over your CV too. It’s important to make sure it doesn’t contain any mistakes, such as spelling and grammatical errors. To ensure your resume is spot on, you might find it helpful to ask someone else to read over it for you.

  1. Do you feel ready?

Even if you’ve gained the qualifications you’ll need and you’ve fine tuned your CV to perfection, you will also need to ask yourself if you feel ready. While you might be tempted to throw caution to the wind and suddenly steer your career in a different direction, it’s a good idea to think sensibly about the transition you’re about to make. As long as you feel ready for the change of scenery where your employment is concerned and you’ve given it some careful thought, there’s no reason why taking your career down a new path shouldn’t work for you.
